HAIRPIN SHORTCUT - TO BE USED TO PREVENT DANGEROUS SPRINT FINISHES.
If the leading group are looking like they may end up sprinting to a finish into the back of a slower group a lap down then we may send the lap-down group through the hairpin shortcut which will throw them 30seconds up the circuit giving the lead group more space. Three Left Arrow signs will be shown to the group along verbal instructions. See the map of the circuit here
With such a short circuit, if a single or small group of riders who are way out of the points are deemed to be a possible issue with the lead bunch on their final lap then they will be pulled out with 3 laps to go. Their position will be where they finished at the end of the previous lap.
To save riders time and to avoid congestion on the access road from this week all riders arriving in cars will drive straight through and park up in the usual car park and then walk to the sign on team (by the grassy covered van) to sign in and collect their number. Riders arriving on bikes will head to the same place. Still no arrival before 6.30pm.
Numbers need to be pinned LEFT ON YOUR BACK and LOW. Keep socially distanced at all times before you race.
The parking area can be grimy and slippy so we suggest carrying the bikes to the circuit proper.
Pro tour riders and world champions dream of wearing a winners Santini podium jersey and thanks to our friends at Santini Custom we have created the Bovingdon Bomber winners jersey and every week you will have the chance of stepping up and wearing the Maglia Bomber !
