Every Wednesday eveining from May 6th to August 5th we will be hosting a one hour coaching session for children aged 8-16 led by British Cycling qualified coaches from Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club on the fast smooth tarmac of Bovingdon Airfield's 680m second "Flyer" racing circuit. All riders must be registed, preferably in advance. We invite parents to make a cash contribution to the cost of hiring the track (HHCC Members £5 & Non-members £8). This is a voluntary donation, but we hope that most people will be able to support us in this way.

Please meet & sign on by 6:45pm for a bike check. If there are sufficient numbers, the riders will also be split into ability groups. The session starts at 7:00pm and finishes at 8:00pm. Riders can be unaccompanied or parents can stay & watch either the coaching or the adult races on the main "Bomber" circuit. Some parents even take the opportinity to try crit racing for themselves (details > https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/?series_id=513).

Please make sure that you bring a drink and snack, helmet and gloves. Also please take a few minutes before coming to check that the rider’s helmet fits properly and the bike is in good working order. Riders should be using a road, mountain or a hybrid bike fitted with gears and road tyres. Please make sure there are no loose shoe laces or clothing that could be caught on the bike .

Please sign up for the sessions via RiderHQ, or by emailing me, by 9pm on the night before. If it’s your first session with us, please provide an Emergency Contact Name & Number via the RiderHQ Form. Please note that the first name requested on the RiderHQ Signup Form is the parent’s name not the child’s.

Non-members are welcome to join us for these sessions, but priority will be given to Youth or Family Members of HHCC if numbers have to be restricted by lack of coach availability.
